ENDO-β-1,3-glucanasas reconocidas por anticuerpos tipo IgE de sueros de pacientes alérgicos

RESUMEN
Las β-1,3-glucanasas son proteínas ampliamente distribuidas en plantas implicadas en muchos procesos metabólicos como estrés, infección y procesos de desarrollo. Debido a su capacidad para hidrolizar β-1,3-glucanos, componentes esenciales de la pared celular de hongos y bacterias, han sido designadas como proteínas relacionadas a la patogénesis pertenecientes a la familia 2 (PR-2). A la fecha se han descrito varias β-1,3-glucanasas de plantas como alergénicas, las cuales han sido reconocidas por los anticuerpos tipo IgE de personas con síndrome látex-fruta polen. Estas enzimas también han sido reconocidas como alergenos implicados en el asma ocupacional. A nivel de secuencia primaria y pese a provenir de diferentes especies, entre estas proteínas se presenta una alta homología. Así mismo, los epítopos lineales que han sido recientemente reportados para la β-1,3-glucanasas de plátano, están muy conservados. Estos epítopos comunes, podrían ser la causa de la reactividad cruzada que se presenta entre muchos alergenos, lo cual tiene importancia clínica en personas sensibilizadas contra estas estructuras. Este trabajo recopila la información reportada a la fecha acerca de las β-1,3-glucanasas de plantas implicadas en alergias.
