ABSTRACT

Dermoid cysts (QD) are benign lesions that originate from ectodermal tissue that remains in the thickness of tissues during embryonic development of multipotent cells or perhaps the implementation of epithelium are the cause of dermoid cyst. The QD appears in many regions of the body. The overall incidence of this type of cyst in the head and neck is rather low (explained less than 2% of all cysts in the head and neck. The cyst presents as a painless compressible mass, which is movable. Most are small, but some have exceeded 12 cm. They will frequently distend the mucosa so thoroughly that some of the contents may be seen. When they present in the floor of the mouth, they displace the tongue upward, which may interfere with speech. In the submental triangle, they will create a double-chin appearance. When in the oral cavity appears regularly in the anterior floor of mouth about the midline. Dermoid cysts can be observed between 15 and 35 years. We present two cases of dermoid cysts located in the floor of mouth.
